Please note these important changes to the way appointments will be booked at Medwyn Surgery starting from 12th February 2018.

When you call the surgery with an urgent medical problem the receptionist will offer you a telephone call back and ask for your preferred contact number.  Please give the receptionist a brief description of your problem so that the nurse practitioner or doctor can give your problem the right attention.

A doctor or a nurse practitioner will return your call within one hour to discuss your problem.  A maximum of two attempts will be made to make contact so please stay by your phone until contact has been made.

There are a number of options as a result of the call back:

  • Advice or treatment without visiting the surgery
  • An appointment that day to see a nurse practitioner or doctor
  • A future appointment to see a doctor
  • If required, an investigation such as a blood test or x-ray may be arranged before you are seen
  • A home visit

Parking at the surgery?  Parking in the Pay & Display car park is the responsibility of the patient and if you are kept waiting for an appointment,  you will need to ensure that you top up the meter accordingly. Please speak to a receptionist and let them know you've left the surgery to top up your parking.  Unfortunately the surgery can no longer provide letters of support for any penalty ticket appeal.

Medwyn Centre Partners

Medwyn GP Surgery is only one part of the larger Medwyn Centre development. The building development was driven and funded by the GP Partners who had a vision of providing Dorking with a first class facility from where a range of medical and support services could be provided to local residents 'closer to home'.

We are pleased to say that there is now a range of services based at Medwyn and all are run by independent healthcare providers, operating entirely separately from the Medwyn GP Surgery.

Some organisations have a full time presence at the Medwyn Centre, such as the community nursing teams, NHS dentists, physiotherapist and podiatrist. Other healthcare providers and counsellors run clinics at Medwyn on a sessional basis.
