A Selection Of Our Services At Medwyn

Antenatal Care

Antenatal clinics are available with the midwife on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, as part of the shared care programme with East Surrey Hospital.

Child Health Development

Child immunisation and child health surveillance clinics, are held with either Dr Louise Tomei or Dr Anne-Marie Quirk. They can answer any concerns you may have regarding your child’s development or immunisations.

Diabetes

Our practice nurse, Betti Reeves runs regular diabetic clinics every week.

Family Planning Services

We have now increased our provision of family planning clinics. If you want a coil or contraceptive implant fitted, then please contact reception for an appointment by completing our Ask Reception A Question form.

You do not have to be registered at Medwyn Surgery to access these family planning services. We can see anybody who lives in the Surrey Downs area. We offer a range of appointments across the week including evening appointments.

Minor Surgery

Minor surgical procedures are performed by the doctors on a Wednesday morning, from 08:30 to 11:00.

Phlebotomy

This clinic runs on a daily basis. An appointment is required.

Respiratory Disease

Our practice nurses have been trained in the management of asthma and chronic lung disease. Regular appointments are available on request.

Smoking Cessation

One You Surrey stop smoking advisors can support you throughout your quit attempt. They will see you (up to a maximum of 12 appointments) to help you remain smoke free. You are four times more likely to quit for good with support. They can be contacted via the surgery or direct on 01737 652168.

Travel Health

If you are travelling and require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel, under the current NHS contract the only vaccinations that are available to our patients are:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid
  • Diptheria/Tetanus/Polio (DTP)
  • Cholera

If you wish to book an appointment at the practice for any of the above immunisations, it is important to make this appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel – as a second appointment may be required.
