Item 1 Welcome and introductions

The members were welcomed to the first meeting by Jo and Dr Quirk. Members briefly introduced themselves. Adrian Maybanks introduced himself to those who had not previously served with him on the Friends’ committee. Adrian also thanked Ann for her chairing of the Medwyn Friends Committee which the PPG now replaces.

Item 2.

Confidentiality Agreements

Jo proceeded to go through the Confidentiality Policy and Declaration Agreement for Volunteers, which all participants were happy to sign. This document had previously been circulated to all the volunteers, Dr Quirk said that there would always be one of the doctors’ present at our meetings.

Item 3. Medwyn PPG Vison

Dr Quirk and Jo briefed the meeting on the PPG vison. We would be informed of any policy change emanating from the NHS.

Item 4. Roles and Responsibilities

The group will initially have a maximum of twelve members, with five to make a meeting quorate. So far, there are ten volunteers. Adrian Maybanks suggested we should meet four times a year, either in person or remotely. Eventually, h e might need to appoint a vice chairman, in the event he could not attend a meeting or might be unwell.

Item 5 Terms of reference

Adrian went through the ‘Terms of Reference’ with the group, everyone was satisfied with the proposed TOR and formally agr eed them.

Item 6. Virtual Group - growth and engagements

7. Where to start
