CQC Update
· CQC – Adrian congratulated on the grading of the outstanding result for the practice.
· All of the PPG send their congratulations “We are so pleased for you”
· The next one will be in 5 years (minimum)
Mission Statement - Mission Values and Vision
· Discussion around the Mission Statement and how it reflects for the surgery (see copy attached).
New Practice Manager
· Update on Practice Manager – Charlotte Luck will be starting with Medwyn Surgery on 9th March.
· Charlotte is coming in for some of her induction at the end of February.
Carers /Carers Event
· Possible planning for a Carers regular meet up bi-weekly. JG hopefully has plans for this to start in 2026.
· Next Carers event to be planned for March/April.

Baby Imms Information Session
· We have plans for a Baby imms information session
· Two of Medwyn’s GPs HW and AO are going to be running a Q&A session for new parents.
· This is planned for the end of February. To be advertised on facebook, in the surgery and invites sent to new parents.
ACTION :
JG to action the session with HW and AO.
PPG offering help if they can.
· Question on uptake around vaccinations in this area.
· We have a good uptake, this can go in waves. QOF targets can show fluctuation depending on new information.
· Public health raise advertisement for the public to have their vaccinations.
· There is a new vaccination MMRV for children which includes chicken pox.
· When there is an epidemic, this increases people’s awareness
AOB
· General discussion around prostate cancer –
· The higher the PSA level the more likely, but it is not predictive.
· PPG meets every quarter –
· We are still working on the remote party, trying to increase awareness for patients to support the remote PPG group.
· Discussion around an open evening and invite the PPG - Adrian happy to speak at this, organise with new PM.
ACTION :
AMaybanks to discuss with CL when she starts in March.
· PPG members asking - Do we send out information to new patients?
ACTION:
JG to look into this.
· Electronic bookings – is there an issue around this. There are some pre-bookable appointments.
· Discussion around the triage system working well – praise on same day appointment given.
· Telephone calls taken for those patients that area unable to fill in a form online.
· Mobile phones being used in the waiting room. Can be too much and distracting for sick patients.
ACTION:
JG to check if there are signs and a policy in place.
JG to add reminder poster on TV board.
Lidia Palermo - ICB
· Lidia Palermo from Surrey Heartlands ICB attended the meeting to discuss raising awareness for patients to use the NHS App
· Discussion around PPG members helping out at a session at Medwyn to support Medwyn patients.
ACTION:
JG /LP to organise a meet up for PPG / and patients to come along.
